This study evaluates the spatial distribution characteristics, edaphic adaptation, and environmental remediation potential of shoreline purslane (Sesuvium portulacastrum L.) in the coastal region of Southern Vietnam. The methodology integrates field survey data (n = 10) in Ca Mau province, reference data sourced from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility network (n = 58), and the SoilGrids 2.0 baseline database within a QGIS platform. Mapping results confirm the continuous distribution of the species along intertidal zones and estuarine mudflats. Comparative analysis of the topsoil layer (0-15 cm) demonstrates that the field habitats exhibit a high degree of homogeneity with Southern baseline data, characterized by heavy clay soils (> 47%), a pH of approximately 6.4, and an elevated organic matter content (Soil Organic Carbon, SOC > 40 g/kg). Regarding environmental remediation performance, experimental outcomes prove that Sesuvium portulacastrum L. tolerates extreme salinity up to 50‰, achieves a soil desalination efficiency of 92%, and effectively accumulates heavy metals (96.6% for Iron, 85.6% for Cadmium, and up to 80% for Lead). In the management of shrimp aquaculture effluents, this species thoroughly eliminates (100%) toxic nitrogenous compounds (NH3, NO2-, NO3-) within a 12-day period. Beyond its ecological value, the plant bioaccumulates high concentrations of valuable active compounds, specifically Phytoecdysteroids and Omega-3 fatty acids, showcasing significant biopharmaceutical potential. This research provides a crucial scientific foundation for deploying a ‘Multifunctional green belt’ model to stabilize soil mechanics, remediate topsoil degraded by saltwater intrusion, and open sustainable economic avenues for coastal communities in the Mekong Delta.

Nghiên cứu đánh giá đặc điểm phân bố không gian, sự thích nghi thổ nhưỡng và tiềm năng phục hồi môi trường của loài rau sam biển (Sesuvium portulacastrum L.) tại khu vực ven biển Nam Bộ. Phương pháp nghiên cứu tích hợp dữ liệu khảo sát thực địa (n = 10) tại tỉnh Cà Mau, dữ liệu đối chứng từ mạng lưới GBIF (n = 58) và dữ liệu nền SoilGrids 2.0 trên nền tảng QGIS. Kết quả bản đồ hóa xác nhận sự phân bố liên tục của loài dọc theo đới triều và bãi bồi cửa sông. Phân tích đối chiếu chỉ số đất mặt (0–15 cm) khẳng định sinh cảnh thực địa có sự đồng nhất cao với dữ liệu nền vùng Nam Bộ, đặc trưng bởi nền đất sét nặng (> 47%), pH ~ 6,4 và hàm lượng hữu cơ cao (SOC > 40 g/kg). V về năng lực phục hồi môi trường, thực nghiệm chứng minh rau sam biển chịu mặn cực đoan đến 50‰, đạt hiệu suất khử mặn đất 92%, và tích lũy hiệu quả kim loại nặng (Sắt 96,6%, cadmium 85,6%, chì đến 80%). Trong quản lý nước thải ao tôm, loài này xử lý hoàn toàn (100%) các dạng đạm độc hại (NH3, NO2, NO3-) chỉ sau 12 ngày. Ngoài giá trị sinh thái, cây còn tích lũy hàm lượng cao các hoạt chất quý Phytoecdysteroids và Omega-3 mang tiềm năng sinh dược học cao. Nghiên cứu cung cấp cơ sở khoa học quan trọng để ứng dụng mô hình ‘Vành đai xanh đa chức năng’, giúp ổn định cơ giới đất, phục hồi tầng đất mặt suy thoái do xâm nhập mặn và mở ra hướng phát triển kinh tế bền vững cho cộng đồng ven biển vùng đồng bằng sông Cửu Long.
