Abstract

A cross-sectional study was conducted at the Veterinary Clinic of Can Tho University from April to October 2022 to determine the epidemiological characteristics of metritis and pyometra in bitches and its variations in hematological and biochemical parameters. Results show that 121 bitches were suffered with metritis and pyometra, accounting for 31.59% of the total of 383 bitches which were first time brought to here for diagnostis and treatment. The results of epidemiological research indicate that the incidence of metritis and pyometra in the indigenous bitches was higher than that of the exotic bitches (35.34% vs 24.62%). The percentage of metritis and pyometa was the highest in bitches group over 5 years old (36,84%) and the lowest in bitches group under 2 years old (8.75%). The incidence of metritis and pyometra varied by age; feeding pattern and pre-history of contraceptive treatments. The free ranching bitches faced with higher incidence of metritis and pyometa than the captive raising bithches (40% vs 17.68%). The bitches with pre-history of contraceptive treatments affected with higher incidence of metritis and pyometra in comparision with the bitches without contraceptive treatments (38.64% vs 18.18%). Results of hematological tests of 70/121 bitches show that the number of RBC, HGB, HCT decreased, with the range of 1.34 – 5.47.10⁶/mm³, 3 – 11.91 g/dL and 9.3 – 36.9%, respectively while the number of white blood cells, lymphocytes and neutrophils was increased with range of 18.3 – 75.49.10³/mm³, 31.8 – 50.6% and 71.2 - 92%, respectively. The results of biochemical test indicate that parameters of AST and ALT ure and creatine were higher compared with normal indicators with range of 49 – 565 U/L, 63 – 171 U/L; 26.3 – 225.5 mg/dL and 1.7 – 14.1 mg/dL; respectively.  The consistent findings of the the present study from hematological and blood chemistry data show that there is a decrease in red blood cells, hemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume (PCV) and an increase in neutrophils in all bitches with metritis and pyometa.  In addition, parameters of AST, ALT, urea, creatinin were elevated in the patient bitches compared with the reference range of parameters for healthy bitches.

Nghiên cứu cắt ngang nhằm xác định đặc điểm dịch tễ và sự thay đổi một số chỉ số sinh lý, sinh hóa máu trên chó bị viêm tử cung tích mủ được thực hiện Bệnh xá Thú y, Trường Đại học Cần Thơ từ tháng 4 đến tháng 11 năm 2022. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy, có 121 chó bị viêm tử cung tích mủ, chiếm 31,59% trong tổng số 383 chó có bệnh lý trên đường sinh dục được đưa đến khám và điều trị lần đầu tại Bệnh xá. Kết quả nghiên cứu dịch tễ cho thấy, bệnh xảy ra ở giống chó nội cao hơn so với giống chó ngoại (35,34% so với 24,62%). Bệnh viêm tử cung tích mủ xảy ra cao nhất ở chó >5 năm tuổi (38,09%) và thấp nhất xảy ra ở chó <2 năm tuổi (8,75%). Bệnh ảnh hưởng bởi phương thức nuôi, chó nuôi thả tỷ lệ bệnh cao hơn so với chó nuôi nhốt (40,25%; 17,68%). Những con có tiền sử tiêm ngừa thai có tỷ lệ mắc bệnh cao hơn so với những con không có tiền sử tiêm ngừa thai (38,64%; 18,18%). Kết quả xét nghiệm sinh lý máu 70/121 chó mắc bệnh viêm tử cung tích mủ cho thấy, số lượng RCB (hồng cầu), HGB (huyết sắc tố), HCT (tỷ lệ thể tích hồng cầu) đều giảm (dao động lần lượt là 1,34 – 5,47.10⁶/mm³, 3 – 11,91 g/dL và 9,3 – 36,9%); số lượng bạch cầu, bạch cầu lympho và bạch cầu trung tính tăng cao (dao động lần lượt là 18,3 - 75,49.10³/mm³; 31,8 - 50,6% và 71,2 - 92%). Kết quả xét nghiệm sinh hóa máu trên chó mắc bệnh viêm tử cung tích mủ cho thấy, chỉ số AST (Aspartate aminotransferase), ALT (Alanine aminotransferase), urea và creatine đều cao hơn so với bình thường (dao động trong khoảng từ 49 – 565 U/L và 63 – 171 U/L; 26,3 – 225,5 mg/dL và 1,7 – 14,1 mg/dL). Kết quả đánh giá huyết học cho thấy, giảm hồng cầu, giảm nồng độ hemoglobin, giảm dung tích hồng cầu (PCV), tăng bạch cầu với bạch cầu trung tính, các chỉ số sinh hóa: AST, ALT, ure, creatine tăng cao so với bình thường, là những phát hiện nhất quán liên quan đến bệnh viêm tử cung tích mủ trên chó.
