Abstract

The study was conducted with the purpose of evaluating agronomic traits of 90 Japanese soybean varieties in order to select good varieties with high yield. The experiment was laid out Randomized Complete Block Design, with three replications in Spring crop and Summer - Autumn crop at the experimental area of An Giang University. The result of Spring crop, ten potential soybean varieties were selected, in which 7 varieties belong to very early maturity group (067, 077, 078, 080, 081, 082 and 179) with maturation time range from 79 to 87 days and 4 varieties belonging to early maturity group (056, 112, 117 and 167) with maturation time of 90 - 95 days. The coat color of the seeds was very diverse such as yellow (056, 067, 077, 078, 081, 112, 117 and 167), light green (082) or black (179), 100 seeds weight was range from 17.6 to 30.3 g.  The 112 (Fukuyutaka) variety had the highest yield (19 – 26.3 g/plant), followed by 056 (Tamahomare) and 117 (Akisengoku).
