Abstract

In this study, three flavonoid compounds 3′,4′,5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone, 3,4′,5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone; 3,3′,4′,5,7-pentahydroxyflavone were found in the ethanol extract of (Ficus pumila L.). They present a great diversity of biological activities observed in vitro, such as: Antioxidant effect, modulation of the enzymatic activity and inhibition of cellular proliferation anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties. On that basis, herbal pills were prepared from the ethanol-water extract of (Ficus pumila L.). combined with Smilax glabra Roxb. and Stephania dielsiana Y. C. Wu to enhance the treatment for osteoarthritis pain. The herbal pills showed the potential of NO inhibition activity production in RAW 264.7 cell, with IC50 values of 31.18 ± 2.86 µg/mL and the IC50 values of DPPH free radical scavenging capacity was 168.016 µg/mL
