Abstract

The study aims to assess the current situation and propose solutions to minimize the impacts of land acquisition on people whose land was acquired in phase 1 of the WHA Industrial Zone 1 project in Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province. The study conducted a survey of 100 households whose land was acquired in the selected project using a random sampling method. Using the comparison method and a 5-level Likert scale to assess the current situation and impacts of land acquisition on people's lives. Basically, land acquisition was carried out on schedule, in accordance with the law and agreed by the majority of people whose land was acquired. Land acquisition was assessed through 15 criteria; of which, 2/15 criteria were assessed at an average level, 8/15 criteria were assessed at a good level and 5/15 criteria were assessed at a very good level. Some shortcomings are that the compensation plan is mainly in cash; compensation prices for land and assets on land are low; support for job search and the ability to find jobs of people whose land is recovered is low; there is no direction for effective use of compensation and support funds. From there, propose solutions to minimize the impact of land recovery on people whose land is recovered.
